Bibliometric analysis of amebiasis research

<b>Aim: </b>Amebiasis is a disease caused by protozoon <i>Entamoeba histolytica</i>, that results in amoebic dysentery. While intestinal parasites are the third leading cause of death, especially developing countries, it has been global concern. Bibliometric methods have used parasitology discipline for more than 30 years, however there not any bibliometric study on amebiasis literature. Our aim was to analyse published literature methods.<br /> <b>Material and methods: </b>A systematic evaluation using Scopus database made from inception 2021. The search terms ‘amebiasis’, ‘<i>Entamoeba</i>’, ‘<i>Entamoeba histolytica’</i>, ‘amoebic dysentery’ were used. authors, publication year, title, publishing country/journal/institution, keywords, citation numbers acquired each article. Descriptive data analysis conducted via Microsoft Excel 2010 database’s graphics used.<br Results: Among 7,140 articles, 18.9 % them open access, 72.75 English language. Most articles area medicine. USA, Mexico, India top countries. number publications did fall below 50 per year since 1950. There an increasing citations research recently.<br <b>Conclusion: concern as one infectious causes mortality shown growing attraction research, so will continue be public health issue.<br <b>Key words: </b>amebiasis, analysis, <i>Entamoeba histolytica</i>, bibliometrics
